Mr David Gilbertson (Chairman)

Experience

David Gilbertson is a barrister and solicitor with over 20 years experience in Corporations and Commercial Law including mergers and acquisitions. He has worked with the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) in the Federal Court and also the Commonwealth Administrative Appeals Tribunal.

David was a Senior Associate with Corrs Chambers Westgarth from 1987 to 1993 and during this time he gained extensive experience in the financial services industry and was a special adviser to the Chairman of ASIC from 1991 to 1992.

Special Responsibilities

David is a member of the Audit and Remuneration Committees.

Mr Peter Carroll (Managing Director)

Experience

Peter Carroll is a solicitor and barrister and the Managing Partner of Alpha Legal Pty Limited, a boutique firm specialising in banking and finance law.

He is the former Managing Partner of Jones King lawyers and was a Partner at Corrs Chambers Westgarth for 15 years where he practiced in the areas of securitisation, structured finance, retail and commercial banking and finance company law. Peter practiced as a Barrister between 2001 and 2004 advising primarily on finance, insurance and mergers and acquisitions.

Peter has published numerous papers on consumer credit and finance industry issues and has prepared reports on Insurance Law Reform and other papers for the Australian Government.

Mr David Pemberton

Experience

David Pemberton has worked in the automotive insurance industry for 27 years having worked for Pat Ryan & Associates (An AON Company) , AIM Insurance and Swann Insurance between 1983 and 2003.  When David left Swann Insurance in 2003 he was employed as the Assistant General Manager.

Since 2003, David has served as Managing Director of several Insurance entities both in Australia and overseas. His most recent position as President of The FLAG Group which creates and markets insurance programs in the USA.

David has served as a Director of a number of companies as follows:

Mr Guy Stephens

Experience

Guy Stephens has worked in the insurance industry for 25 years having worked for VACC Insurance, AIM Insurance and Swann Insurance between 1985 and 2002.  When Guy left Swann Insurance in 2002 he was employed as the State Manager for Victoria and Tasmania.

Guy has been involved with several insurance entities in the capacity as General Manager..

Guy is a member of the Compliance, Remuneration, Product and Pricing Committees.

Mr Geoff Brayshaw FCA FCPA

Experience

Geoff Brayshaw has more than 30 years experience as a Chartered Accountant and was National President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia (ICAA) in 2002. He is a Fellow of the ICAA as well as CPA Australia and represents Australia at the Confederation of Asian and Pacific Accountants as well as the Asean Federation of Accountants.

Geoff was formerly the Managing Partner of the Perth practice of the international firm of BDO Chartered Accountants and until his retirement from the BDO partnership in June 2005, Geoff was a member of the BDO Australian National Executive. He was an Audit and Assurance Partner with BDO Perth for 21 years and his experience includes the provision of corporate advisory services, probity audit services and advocacy on behalf of the accounting professions.

Mr Keith Knight

Experience

Keith Knight has worked in the Automotive Finance and Insurance industry for 22 years prior to retiring in 2000.

Keith worked for leading Automotive Financier, Australian Guarantee Corporation (AGC Ltd) for 15 years (1978-1992) before being appointed as Queensland State Manager of AIM Insurance in 1992. He was then appointed to General Manager of AIM Insurance in 1997 until his retirement in 2000.

Since 2000, Keith has been contracted by various Insurance Companies to assist with the Licensing and Compliance requirements to the Corporations Act 2001.
