Mr David Gilbertson (Chairman)

David is a barrister with over 20 years experience in Corporations and Commercial Law. He has appeared for the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) in the Federal Court and elsewhere. David was also a Senior Associate with Corrs Chambers Westgarth and a special adviser to the Chairman of ASIC.

David is a member of the Audit, Compliance and Remuneration Committees.

Mr Peter Carroll (Managing Director)

Peter is a barrister and solicitor and the Managing Partner of Alpha Legal Pty Limited. He is the former Managing Partner of Jones King lawyers and was a Partner at Corrs Chambers Westgarth for 15 years where he practiced in the areas of securitisation, structured finance, retail and commercial banking and finance company law. Between 2001 and 2004 Peter practiced as a Barrister advising primarily on finance, insurance and banking law. He has published a number papers relating to consumer credit and the finance industry.

Peter has served as a Director of the following companies including Autobarn Pty Ltd, Automotive Brands Pty Ltd and AVEA Limited.

Peter is member of the Product and Pricing Committees.

Mr David Pemberton

David has worked in the automotive insurance industry for 27 years having started with Pat Ryan & Associates (An AON Company), AIM Insurance and Swann Insurance. From 2003 he has served as Managing Director of several Insurance entities both in Australia and overseas. His most recent position is as President of The FLAG Group which creates and markets insurance programs in the United States of America.

David has served as a Director of a number of companies including:

• The FLAG Group
• Australian Financial Automotive Services Pty Ltd

David is a member of the Product and Pricing Committees.

Mr Geoff Brayshaw FCA FCPA

Geoff has more than 30 years experience as a Chartered Accountant and was National President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia (ICAA) in 2002. He is currently a Fellow of the ICAA as well as CPA Australia where he represents Australia at the Confederation of Asian and Pacific Accountants as well as the Asean Federation of Accountants.

Geoff was also the Managing Partner of the Perth office of international firm BDO Chartered Accountants until his retirement from the BDO partnership in June 2005, Geoff was a member of the BDO Australian National Executive. He was an Audit and Assurance Partner with BDO Perth for 21 years and his experience includes the provision of corporate advisory services, probity audit services and advocacy on behalf of the accounting professions.

Mr Keith Knight

Prior to retiring in 2000, Keith worked in the Automotive Finance and Insurance industry for 22 years. After working for leading Automotive Financier, Australian Guarantee Corporation (AGC Ltd) for 15 years (1978-1992) he was appointed Queensland State Manager of AIM Insurance in 1992. He was then appointed to General Manager of AIM Insurance in 1997. From the year 2000, Keith has been contracting to various Insurance Companies to assist with the Licensing and Compliance requirements to the Corporations Act 2001. Keith’s valuable experience is a true asset to AVEA.

Keith is a member of the Audit, Compliance and Remuneration Committees.

Ron Morgan

Ron started his career with AMP in 1964 in an Administration role. After three years he transitioned into a Sales role before taking on the position of Agency Manager and Sales Manager. In 1980 Ron moved to Melbourne as Divisional Sales Manager for AMP. In 1986 he left to form the Life and Fire Agency and Powerhouse Financial Group, a financial planning Agency. Ron retired in 2004.

Ron is a member of the Remuneration Committee.
